Das Gebet ist Licht, Almosen ein Beweis, Geduld eine Erleuchtung, und der Qur'an ein Beweis für oder gegen dich. Jedermann geht in den Tag und verkauft sich selbst und bringt (entweder) seine Befreiung oder sein Verderben (herbei). [Dies berichtet Muslim.] Kommentar zu Hadit Nr. 23 (der vierzig Hadithe von An-Nawawiyy) "Die Reinheit ist die Hälfte des Glaubens."' Der Imam Al-Gazzalyy erklärt die Reinheit, die hier gemeint ist, als Freisein des Herzens von Groll, Neid, Hass und allen Herzenskrankheiten; denn der vollkommene Glaube kann nur durch das Fehlen dieser Eigenschaften zustande kommen. Wer die beiden Sätze des Glaubensbekenntnisses "Asch-hadu alla ilaha illa-llah, wa-asch-hadu anna Muhammad Rasulullah (Ich bezeuge, daß kein Gott da ist außer Allah [Dem Einen Gott], und ich bezeuge, daß Muhammad der Gesandte Allahs ist)" spricht und danach handelt, der hat schon die erste Hälfte seines Glaubens erfüllt; und wessen Herz rein ist von all den genannten Krankheiten, dessen Glaube ist vollkommen. Wessen Herz aber nicht von ihnen frei ist, dessen Glaube ist unvollkommen. Andere Gelehrte waren folgender Meinung: Wessen Herz rein ist, und wer dann die kleine rituelle Reinigung (arab.: Wudu') und die große rituelle Reinigung (arab.: Gusl) vornimmt (je nachdem was gerade notwendig ist, um in den Zustand der rituellen Reinheit zu gelangen) und so vorbereitet betet, der hat sich mit den beiden Arten von Reinheit, der innerlichen und der äußerlichen, zusammen ins Gebet begeben. Wer sich aber nur mit der körperlichen Reinheit allein ins Gebet begibt, der hat bloß der Forderung nach äußerer Reinheit Genüge getan, aber das wesentliche Gebot seelischer Reinheit vernachlässigt. Denn Allah (t) sieht nur auf die Reinheit des Herzens nach den Worten des Gesandten Allahs: "Allah sieht nicht auf eure Gestalt und eure Haut, sondern Er sieht in eure Herzen." [Was aber nicht bedeutet, daß man zur Erlangung der rituellen Reinheit auf die (äußerliche) Waschung verzichten darf!!!] "Alhamdulillah füllt die Waage, und Subhanallah und AlhamdulilIah füllen, was zwischen Himmel und Erde ist." Auch der folgende Hadit betont mit Nachdruck die Wichtigkeit des Glaubensbekenntnisses: Mose sagte: "0 Herr! Zeige mir etwas, das mich ins Paradies bringt!", worauf Allah (t) ihm antwortete: "0 Mose! Sprich: la ilaha illa-llah (es ist kein Gott da außer Allah). Würden die sieben Himmel und die sieben Erden in eine der beiden Waagschalen gelegt und "la ilaha illa-llah" in die andere, dann wäre die mit la ilaha illa-llah schwerer."' Wenn die Worte "Alhamdulillah" ein stofflicher Körper wären, würden sie dieWaagschale füllen; oder der Lohn für "Alhamdulillah" füllt sie. „Das Gebet ist Licht." Das heißt, der Lohn für das Gebet ist das Licht, die Erleuchtung des Geistes und des Herzens. Ein anderer Hadith lautet auch: "Verkünde denjenigen, die im dunkeln in die Moschee gehen, vollkommenes Licht am Tage der Auferstehung."' "... Almosen ein Beweis ..." Hierin steckt ein Hinweis auf die Echtheit des Glaubens desjenigen, der Almosen gibt. In diesem Zusammenhang ist erwähnenswert, daß Almosen auf Arabisch "Sadaqa" heißt, und dass das Wort "sidq", das von derselben Wurzel gebildet ist, "Aufrichtigkeit, Wahrhaftigkeit" bedeutet. Das Almosen heißt "Sadaqa", weil es ein Prüfstein für die Wahrhaftigkeit des Glaubens ist. Ein Heuchler mag zwar beten; es fällt ihm aber meistens schwer, ein Almosen zu geben. "Geduld (ist) eine Erleuchtung ..." Die erwünschte Geduld besteht in der Standhaftigkeit des Gehorsams Allah (t) gegenüber; sowie dem langmütigen Ertragen von Heimsuchungen und Widerwärtigkeiten in der diesseitigen Welt. Die Geduld in diesen Dingen ist einer Leuchte vergleichbar, solange man auf dem rechten Weg bleibt. "Jedermann geht in den Tag und verkauft sich selbst..." Jeder Mensch bemüht sich für sich selbst: Es gibt solche, die sich Allah (t) durch ihren Gehorsam Ihm gegenüber hingeben; und dafür lässt Er sie aus der Qual frei. Es gibt aber auch solche, die sich dem Satan und der Begierde verkaufen, indem sie beiden Übeln verfallen. Dann richtet Allah (t) sie zugrunde und vernichtet sie. Der Gesandte Allahs sagte: "Wer, wenn er aufsteht oder schlafen geht, spricht: »O Allah! Ich bin da und mache Dich, die Träger Deines Thrones, Deine Engel, Deine Propheten und alle Deine Geschöpfe zu Zeugen dafür, dass Du Allah bist, außer Dem allein kein anderer Gott da ist, und Der keinen Teilhaber hat, und (ich glaube) dass Muhammad Dein Knecht und Prophet ist«, dem lässt Allah ein Viertel seiner Person aus dem Höllenfeuer frei. Spricht er diese Worte zweimal, lässt Allah die Hälfte von ihm frei, bei drei Malen drei Viertel, und bei vieren lässt Er ihn ganz vom Höllenfeuer freikommen." Dagegen, das die Freilassung nicht für die ganze Person gültig ist, wenn Allah (t) das erste Viertel eines Menschen befreit, kann man folgenden Einwand geltend machen: Wenn ein Herr nur einen Teil seines Sklaven freilässt, wird die Freilassung auch für die gesamte Person wirksam. Dieses Argument wird entkräftet, wenn man bedenkt, dass die Wirksamkeit nur für den Sklavenhalter zwingend ist, für Allah (t) aber nichts auf der Welt zwingend ist, im Gegensatz zu Seinen Geschöpfen. Es geschieht nichts, was Er nicht will. An Ihn dürfen keine menschlichen Maßstäbe gelegt werden. Im Qur'an heißt es: "Allah hat den Gläubigen ihre Person und ihr Vermögen dafür abgekauft, dass sie das Paradies haben sollen." (Sura 9, Vers 111). Einige Gelehrte sagen, es gebe keinen ehrbareren Handel als diesen: Mit dem Käufer ist hier Allah (t) gemeint, mit dem Verkäufer der Gläubige; das verkaufte Gut ist die Person des Gläubigen und der Preis das Paradies. Dieser Qur'an-Vers weist darauf hin, dass der Verkäufer zuerst gezwungen wird, die Ware herauszugeben, bevor er den Preis dafür entgegennimmt; und dass umgekehrt vom Käufer nicht verlangt wird, zuerst den Preis zu zahlen. Allah (t) hat den Gläubigen den Kampf (arab.: Gihad) auferlegt, damit sie um Seinetwillen getötet werden, indem sie ihre Person und ihr Leben, die sie Allah (t) verkauft haben, ausliefern und als Preis dafür das Paradies entgegennehmen. Wenn dem jemand widerspricht: Wie sollte der Herr von seinen Sklaven deren Personen abkaufen, wo sie doch sein Eigentum sind? So wird ihm geantwortet werden: er hat sie sich zuerst freikaufen lassen und danach von ihnen gekauft; analog dazu hat Allah (t) den Menschen die täglichen fünf Gebete, das Fasten und anderes mehr zur Pflicht gemacht, und wenn sie diese Pflichten erfüllt (also ihr "seelisches Lösegeld" gezahlt) haben, sind sie frei.
