Es mangelt an deutschsprachiger Literatur über die Frühgeschichte des Islams und der ersten Generation der Muslime. Wir hoffen hierbei einen kleinen Beitrag geleistet zu haben, diese Lücke zu schliessen, indem wir einen von vielen, aber wohlbekannten Gefährten des Propheten s vorstellen. Hierbei handelt es sich um Khalid bin al-Walid, von seiner Kindheit bis zu seinem Tode. Während ein jeder Gefährte aus einem anderen Grund hervorstach, so wurde Khalid maßgeblich durch seine Feldzüge bekannt aus denen er stets als Sieger hervorkam. Seine Einzigartigkeit wurde unter anderem auch durch Abu Bakrs Aussage unterstrichen: "Frauen werden nicht mehr imstande sein, Männer wie Khalid bin al-Walid zu gebären." Das Buch "Khalid bin al-Walid, sein Leben und seine Feldzüge" wurde im Oktober 1969 von dem verstorbenen General der pakistanischen Armee A.I. Akram geschrieben. Der Autor erlernte die arabische Sprache, um auf die frühesten, historischen Quellen Zugriff zu haben, welche er auch als Quellenangaben als Fußnoten angibt. |
