    Wie gefährlich ist "Der Islamische Staat im Irak und Großsyrien"?

    Der Anführer von Isis ist Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, über den man wenig weiß, außer dass er schon ein wichtiger Kader war, als Isis noch offiziell die Irak-Filiale Al-Kaidas war. Das ist Isis nicht mehr. Ideologisch ist der Unterschied gering, aber es gab ein Zerwürfnis mit dem Chef der Al-Kaida-Zentrale, Aiman al-Sawahiri, das sich vermutlich nicht mehr kitten lassen wird. Die Kontrolle über Mosul könnte nun dazu führen, dass jene syrischen Rebellen, die sowohl gegen das Regime in Damaskus als auch gegen Isis kämpfen, weiter in Bedrängnis geraten. Denn für Isis steht weder Syrien noch der Irak im Fokus, sondern die Schaffung einer möglichst großen, zusammenhängenden Einflusssphäre, die als Operationsgebiet genutzt werden kann. Wer kann Isis Einhalt gebieten? Weder der irakische Staat, noch die kurdischen Gruppen, noch die Isis-Gegner in Syrien sind dazu allein in der Lage, vielleicht nicht einmal alle zusammen. Also bräuchte es eine Macht von Außen. Keine Partei, sei es die Türkei, sei es der Iran, die Nato, die Arabische Liga oder die USA, hat allerdings bisher angedeutet, zu aktiven Schlägen gegen Isis bereit zu sein. Es könnte sein, dass der Fall Mosuls daran etwas ändert. (…)
