    Der malaysische Oppositionsführer Anwar Ibrahim ist überraschend wegen Homosexualität schuldig gesprochen worden. Er soll für fünf Jahre ins Gefängnis. Ein Berufungsgericht hob das zwei Jahre alte Urteil einer niedrigeren Instanz auf. Die drei Richter sahen es nach Angaben von Anwälten einstimmig als erwiesen an, dass der 66-Jährige 2008 Geschlechtsverkehr mit einem Mitarbeiter hatte.

    Homosexualität ist in dem muslimischen Land verboten und kann mit bis zu 20 Jahren Haft bestraft werden. Beobachter rechneten mit einer umgehenden Berufung Anwars gegen das Urteil.

    Anwar hat die Anklagen stets als politische Schmierenkampagnen gebrandmarkt. Er vermutete die Regierung hinter der Anklage, weil er damals dabei war, deren Macht mit einem erfolgreichen Oppositionsbündnis anzugreifen. Anwar war 1999 bereits einmal wegen Korruption und Homosexualität verurteilt worden. Das Urteil wegen Homosexualität wurde später aufgehoben. Menschenrechtsorganisationen und Juristenverbände in aller Welt kritisierten die Prozesse scharf.

    Anwar ist ehemaliger Finanzminister. Mit der seit der Unabhängigkeit 1957 ununterbrochen regierenden Koalition überwarf er sich. Nun steckt er gerade wieder im Wahlkampf: Er will im bevölkerungsreichsten Bundesstaat Selangor Lokalwahlen gewinnen und dann bei den nächsten Wahlen spätestens 2018 erneut antreten. Bei der Wahl 2013 war sein Bündnis zwar unterlegen, hatte der Koalition aber das schlechteste Ergebnis aller Zeiten beschert.

    wandten sich an Allah für Rechtleitung und sie strebten nie nach etwas für sich selbst,
    ohne dass darin eine Verbindung mit Allah, dem Allerhöchsten, war.

    Allah sagte im Qur'an bezüglich der Aussage des Gläubigen aus den Reihen Pharaos:
    „Ich überlasse meine Angelegenheit Allah. Gewiß, Allah sieht die Diener wohl."
    So bewahrte Allah ihn vor den Bosheiten dessen, was sie an Ränken
    geschmiedet hatten, und die Leute Fir'auns umschloß die böse Strafe."
