Im Namen Allāhs, des Allerbarmers, des Barmherzigen! Sprich: "Er ist Allāh, ein Einziger (112:1), Allāh, der Absolute, (Ewige, Unabhängige, von Dem alles abhängt). (112:2) Er zeugt nicht und ist nicht gezeugt worden (112:3), und Ihm ebenbürtig ist keiner." (112:4) Über den Vorzug dieser Sura gibt es viele Ḥadīṯe. Al-Buḫāryy überliefert z.B. folgenden Ḥadīṯ Qudsyy: "Allāh (t) sagt: »Der Mensch leugnet Mich, und er hat kein Recht dazu; und er beschimpft Mich, und er hat kein Recht dazu; sein Mich-Leugnen besteht darin, dass er behauptet, dass Ich ihn nicht wiedererwecke, so wie Ich ihn anfangs erschaffen habe; und sein Mich-Beschimpfen besteht darin, dass er behauptet, Allāh hätte einen Sohn gezeugt. Aber Ich bin der Ewige, Alleinige Herr, Der nicht zeugt und Der nicht gezeugt worden ist, und niemand ist Mir gleich.«" In einem anderen Ḥadīṯ - ebenfalls bei Al-Buḫāryy - wird geschildert, wie ein Vorbeter in jeder Rak'a seiner Gebete immer diese Sura und dann noch eine weitere Sura zusätzlich rezitierte. Als ihn der Prophet, Allāhs Segen und Friede auf ihm, nach dem Grund dafür fragte, sagte jener, dass er diese Sura so liebe. Darauf erwiderte der Prophet, Allāhs Segen und Friede auf ihm: "Deine Liebe zu ihr bringt dich ins Paradies!" Ferner bei Al-Buḫāryy wird überliefert, dass der Prophet jede Nacht dreimal diese Sura und die beiden Schutz-Suren, Nr. 113 und 114, rezitierte, dabei die Hände zusammenlegte, sie anblies und mit ihnen, beim Kopf beginnend, den ganzen Körper überstrich. Und nach einem anderen Ḥadīṯ, der von Muslim überliefert wird, hat der Prophet gesagt: "Allāh hat den Qur'ān in drei Teile geteilt, und "Qull huwa-llāhu aḥad" ist ein Drittel des Qur'ān."
