Laut dem Tourismusfachmann Hassan Saqr, Vorsitzender der Geschäftsführung einer Ferienanlage, ist die Förderung des islamischen Tourismus nicht auf Reiseveranstalter in Saudi Arabien oder anderen muslimischen Ländern beschränkt. Sie umfasst auch internationale Touristenunternehmen mit Muslimen als Zielgruppe. Eines der größten internationalen Touristenunternehmen habe kürzlich eine Website für Halal-Tourismus in Englisch gelauncht. Sie bietet Informationen zu internationalen Touristenzentren, Flughäfen, Supermärkten, online Reiseveranstaltern und Restaurants mit Halal-Angeboten, dazu noch Angaben zu den Moscheen vor Ort. Der saudische Tourismusexperte Ibrahim Al-Rashed rechnet mit einer markanten Zunahme des Halal-Tourismus im eigenen Königreich und der Golfregion. Al-Rashed weist darauf hin, dass diese Art von Tourismus im letzten Jahr weltweit 60 Mrd. US-Dollar generierte. Er hofft auf eine Zunahme von 30% im Halal Sektor, vor allem durch Touristen aus Saudi Arabien und den Golfstaaten. Diese weichen nämlich, wegen den anhaltenden Unruhen in der arabischen Welt, auf internationale Touristenorte aus. Al-Rashed sagt, dass die Halal-Pauschalangebote, ohne islamisch unerlaubte Aktivitäten oder Drinks, bei Saudi Arabischen Familien ein „Hit" seien. Abdullah Al-Safi, Direktor eines Reisebüros mit Halal-Pauschalangeboten, beschreibt den Halal-Tourismus als eine der „neusten Innovationen der Tourismusindustrie" und als „ein Angebot für praktizierende muslimische Familien". Nach den Grundsätzen der Scharia (der islamischen Rechtsprechung), wird in diesen Hotels kein Alkohol serviert und Swimmingpools sind für Frauen und Männer getrennt. Die Reiseveranstalter achten auch darauf, dass bei Flugbuchungen Flüge im Einsatz sind, wo kein Alkohol ausgeschenkt und kein Schweinefleisch serviert wird. Ausserdem werden die Gebetszeiten angekündigt und ein Exemplar des edlen Korans befindet sich in den Sitztaschen. Die Passagiere können auch getrennt nach Frauen und Männern sitzen. Al-Safi sagt, dass der islamische Tourismus 10% des internationalen Tourismus ausmache und mit einer starken Zunahme zu rechnen sei. Auch für die Tourismusindustrie im Mittleren Osten werde gemäß neusten Einschätzungen eine starke Zunahme von 20% pro Jahr erwartet. Die Türkei, Malaysia, Dubai, Jordanien, Tunesien und verschiedene andere Länder würden sich anstrengen, muslimische Touristen aus der ganzen Welt anzulocken, vor allem als Reaktion auf die wachsende Islamophobie im Westen.
